Overview
The eSUB Time mobile application provides a quick way for users to punch in and out for work and makes it easier to track time and labor productivity. The eSUB Time mobile application is available for Android or iOS devices and can be downloaded from the Google Play store or the iOS App Store, respectively.

Log In
After launching the eSUB Time mobile application:
- Tap Email and enter the user’s login email address
- Tap Password and enter the user’s password
- Tap Sign In
Log Out
- Tap the Menu (3 lines) icon
- Tap Log Out
Upon login, the user will be brought immediately to the Punch in/out steps. If a different screen is being displayed, the user may have to tap the Punch In button in the bottom navigation bar.
NOTE: In and Out punches made within one minute of each other will be deleted/ignored by the app.
Punch In
After logging in:
- Tap the Select Project button and choose the desired project
- (If applicable) Tap the Select System and Select Phase buttons, and tap the desired system and phase
- Tap the Select Cost Code button and choose the desired cost code
- (Optional) Tap the project name to switch projects before punching in
- (Optional) Tap the system and/or phase name to switch either one before punching in
- (Optional) Tap the cost code name to switch the cost code before punching in
- Tap the Punch In button
Punch Out
After punching in:
- (If applicable) Tap the Punch In button from the bottom navigation bar in order to get to the Punch in/out screen
- Tap Punch Out
- (If applicable) Select Yes or No on the injury prompt
- No further action is required
- To view the current timecard, jump to section View and Manage Timesheets
A break period in eSUB Time is considered unpaid time and does not count towards a user’s total work hours for the day.
NOTE: A user that is in a current break period must resume the break before being able to punch out. All breaks are rounded to the nearest five minute increment when viewing an employee's total hours.
After punching in:
- (If applicable) Tap the Punch In button from the bottom navigation bar in order to get to the Punch in/out screen
- Tap the Break button
- The break timer will begin counting
- Tap Resume from Break when finished
- The user is brought back to the Punch in/out screen
After punching in:
- (If applicable) Tap the Punch In button from the bottom navigation bar in order to get to the Punch in/out screen
- Tap Switch
- (If applicable) Tap the current project name and choose the desired project
- (If applicable) Tap the current cost code and choose the desired cost code
- (Optional) Tap Add Comment to add a comment to the timecard
- Tap Confirm Switch
Add a comment to a time record
Comments are associated to a specific time record for a given day.
Add a comment to the current Punch in/out period
- (If applicable) Tap the Punch In button from the bottom navigation bar in order to get to the Punch in/out screen
- Tap the Comment button
- Enter the comment
- Tap Post to apply the comment
- Tap the X icon to return to the previous screen
Add a comment to a pre-existing time record
- (If applicable) Tap the Timesheets button from the bottom navigation bar in order to get to the Timesheets screen
- Tap the desired work week to see the associated timecard entries
- A weekly timesheet will appear
- Tap the desired time record to expand the details for that day
- Tap the time record that the comment is being applied to
- Tap the Add Comment button
- Enter the comment
- Tap Post to apply the comment
- Tap the X icon to return to the previous screen
After logging in:
- (If applicable) Tap the Punch In button from the bottom navigation bar in order to get to the Punch in/out screen
- Tap the Plus icon
- Tap one of the following and follow the steps in the appropriate section below:
- Hours Worked
- Time in/out
- Indirect Cost
- Tap the Hours Worked button
- Tap the Select Project button and choose the desired project
- (If applicable) Tap the Select System and Select Phase buttons, and tap the desired system and phase
- Tap the Select Cost Code button and choose the desired cost code
- Tap either the Standard Time, Over Time, or Double Time field
- Enter the total number of hours
- Tap Add
- Tap Save
- Tap the Time in/out button
- Tap the Select Project button and choose the desired project
- (If applicable) Tap the Select System and Select Phase buttons, and tap the desired system and phase
- Tap the Select Cost Code button and choose the desired cost code
- Tap the Punch In button
- Choose the desired punch in time and tap Done
- Tap the Punch Out button
- Choose the desired punch out time and tap Done
- (Optional) Tap the Add Break button
- (Optional) Choose the desired Break Start and Break End times and tap Done when finished
- Tap Save
- Tap the Indirect Cost button
- Tap the Select Indirect Cost button and choose the desired overhead cost code
- Tap either the Standard Time, Over Time, or Double Time field
- Enter the total number of hours
- Tap Add
- Tap Save
View and manage (edit) timesheets
After logging in:
- Tap Timesheets
- (Optional) Tap the Calendar icon to jump to a specific week
- Observe the following status indicators on each timesheet:
- Orange – Pending
- Green – Approved
- Red – Rejected
- Blue – Signed
- Tap the desired work week to see the associated timecard entries
- A weekly timesheet will appear
- Tap the desired time record to expand the details for that day
- (Optional) Tap the Plus icon to add a time record to that day
After following the steps above:
- Tap the Pencil icon
- Edit the information as needed
- Add comments as needed
- Tap Save when finished
- (Optional) Tap Delete Timecard to delete the timecard being viewed
NOTE: The timecard must be approved before it can be signed
After logging in:
- Tap Timesheets
- (Optional) Tap the Calendar icon to jump to a specific week
- Observe the following status indicators on each timesheet:
- Orange – Pending
- Green – Approved
- Red – Rejected
- Blue – Signed
- Tap the Sign button on the desired timesheet
- Tap the I took my breaks, My timesheet is true and correct and (Custom Acknowledgement inserted here) boxes.
6.Tap Sign
- The timesheet now displays a status of Signed
View notifications and settings
View Notifications
After logging in:
- Tap Notifications
- (Optional) Tap on the notification to view the associated timecard
View Settings
After logging in:
- Tap the Menu icon
- Tap Settings
- Tap to adjust the notification settings as desired:
- Punch Out Reminder/Remind me after…
- Time Sheet Approvals
- Time Sheet Rejections
- New Comment
All features of the eSUB Time mobile app will be available in the absence of an internet connection. Any information entered while offline will sync to eSUB Time once internet connectivity is re-established.
The Reset Database option allows the app user to clear the cached app data in order to force the app to sync with your eSUB database. Useful for instances in which projects the user is added to do not appear, or in the case of offline timecards that will not sync.
After logging in:
- Ensure the device has a reliable data or wi-fi connection before proceeding
- Tap the Menu icon
- Tap Settings
- Tap Reset Database
- Wait for the app to sync and reload
