Edit Request For Information

Edit an existing eSUB Request For Information (RFI) by clicking  from the RFI log.  A standard RFI or a GC-Generated RFI may be edited.

RFI Number

Displays the Request For Information number and revision.

RFI

Select whether you are editing this Request For Information or creating a revision of this RFI.

Custom RFI Number

eSUB will automatically generate an Request For Information number; this may be optionally overridden by entering a custom number for the RFI.

RFI Date

Edit the creation date of the Request For Information.

RFI Subject

Enter the subject of the Request For Information.

Send RFI To

Select the subcontractor's or general contractor's project contact (see Project Contacts) to which the Request For Information is to be sent.

Return RFI To

Select your company's project contact (see Project Contacts) to which the Request For Information is to be returned.

Signature

Select the signature to apply to the Request For Information.  If a manual signature line is preferred select "signed by hand".  Only those signatures for whom the User has been granted access are available for selection.

Is there an impact to our progress

Select the impact severity (if any) to your company's continued progress on the project.

Is there an impact to our costs (other than schedule costs)

Select the impact severity (if any) to your company's costs on the project.

To mitigate schedule delay, return by the following date

Enter a date by which the Request For Information should be returned to your company in order to minimize a delay to your schedule.

Primary Labor Activity Affected

Select the primary Labor Activity affected by the conditions generating this Request For Information.

Drawing

Edit the drawing number referred to in the "Clarification Requested" field.

Detail

Edit the detail number referred to in the "Clarification Requested" field.

Spec

Edit the specification number referred to in the "Clarification Requested" field.

Owner No

Edit the owner number referred to in the "Clarification Requested" field.

Other No

Edit any other number referred to in the "Clarification Requested" field.

GC/CM No

Edit the GC/CM number referred to in the "Clarification Requested" field.

GC File No

Edit the general contractor's file number referred to in the "Clarification Requested" field.

Clarification Requested

Edit the full description of the information requested by your company in order to progress on the project.  Cross-reference any numbers (Spec, Owner, Drawing, etcetera).

Recommended Solution

Edit the recommended solution to the Request For Information.

Date RFI Returned

Enter the date that the Request For Information was returned to your Company.  This value is automatically updated whenever a recipient of an RFI email supplies a value for the "Answer To Clarification" field.

Returned RFI Status Comment

Enter an optional addendum to the Request For Information's status.  This may be used to flag certain RFI's so that may be quickly found on the RFI Log.

Void?

Check if this Request For Information is void; leave blank otherwise.

Answer To Clarification

Enter the answer received to your Request For Information.

The recipient of the Request For Information email may update this field automatically via the RFI email's embedded link.

Issue Link

Select any issue to which this Request For Information should be linked.

Click the Save Data button to accept the entered data and file the Request For Information in your eSUB database.

 

Notes

  • This page allows the user to enter either a standard Request For Information or a GC-Generated RFI.  The former are RFIs that your company generates in order to elicit clarifying information from a subcontractor or general contractor.  The latter are RFIs generated by a general contractor sent to your company; these may be transcribed into eSUB for reference and tracking purposes.

  • A warning is displayed if the RFI has a later revision already on file.
